Tom Kean stödjer John McCain

Tom Kean är föredetta guvernör i New Jersey men framförallt föredetta ordförande för 11-september-kommissionen. Han ger i dag sitt stöd till John McCain:

“This is the first time in 20 years I’ve endorsed anyone on the national level -- usually I stay out of these things. This is an endorsement, frankly, of conscience.”

“Sen. McCain was the one who spearheaded the efforts in Congress that produced the most significant reform of the nation’s intelligence gathering and defense capabilities since 1947. To the extent that we’ve been less vulnerable to attacks that we suffered on 9/11, it’s in a large part due to the extraordinary leadership of John McCain."

Naturligtvis viktigt för John McCain att få detta erkännade i kampen mot Rudy Giuliani vars insatser den 11 september är en viktig del av hans popularitet.
